For this project, I created an infographic that illustrated a five-step “how-to” process. The challenge to this is that I can not rely on text to explain my steps. The infographic is 100% illustrated. The main objective with this project is to learn how to use the knowledge of simple illustration design and layout in order to communicate necessary information.
My primary idea for this infographic was to make a 5-step plan on how to make the perfect Christmas gift with a gift basket.
For my final design, I strayed away from my layout sketches. First, I made the artboard horizontal. My idea was to make the infographic look like a generic blueprint of a department store. The arrows lead the viewer through the different departments of the store to get the five items for the gift basket.
