For this project, I was tasked with creating my own font. Inspired by my love for rock music, I wanted to design a blackletter font that leaned into that rock music feel.
First, I researched already existing blackletter fonts. Then, I titled my font: Gothic Rock. Below are images of my final font and advertisements that display the font.
For my advertisement (and extra characters that I designed), I chose the Latin phrase “Vivamus moriendum est” which means “Let us live, since we must die.” I thought this phrase matched the theme of the gothic rock blackletter font.
