For this project, I used only Adobe Illustrator to create a restaurant menu. After exploring logos for several different types of restaurants, I decided to design a menu for a breakfast diner. The phrase “silver spoon” inspired me, but I decided to switch it up in order to stray away from the rich-sounding phrase.
I find that people sometimes unconsciously associate the color yellow with breakfast, and thus decided to implement yellow as a big color in my design. Finally, I came up with the concept for Gold Spoon.
For the logo, I decided to use an image of an antique spoon as my inspiration to create a specific mood for the diner. I also used vector art to make coffee ring stains in the bottom corner partially as a way to give an interesting aspect to empty space, but also to continue to carry the mood and theme of the breakfast diner.
